1838-03-17, Peter, Male, Resistance (Freedom seeking) Peter, an enslaved man owned by John Talmadge, ran away. Partial transcript: "a mulatto man, Peter, a Blacksmith, 27 or 28 years old, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, most of his teeth lost by mercury when small, a scar on his back by a heavy blister... well known as a workman to all of the students in this College and graduates for the last 14 years."

1842-02-04, Coley, Male, Resistance (Freedom seeking) Coley, an enslaved man owned by Thomas W. Harris, ran away. Partial Transcript: "My man Coley, well known [in] Athens, Lawrenceville, Gwinnett, Monroe, and Walton county. Whoever will deliver him to me, shall be well paid, and all expenses [paid]... Coley is about thirty years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, rather yellowish complexion, a little stoop-shouldered, smiling countenance when spoken too, fond of drink and dress."
