Description
Ann's owner, Alonzo Church, paid for her housing which allowed her to live separate from his property, and to her own lot outside of the town of Athens.
Partial Transcript: "The following named slaves were agree upon by the Board as the several amounts required of their masters, employers or guardians, to be [paid] into Treasury as licenses for said privilege, or otherwise, to remove them to their own lots or outside of the corporation of the town of Athens immediately:
Dr. A. Church, 2 negro women, Caroline and Ann, each $10."
