Description
An additional enslaved person was hired to assist in duties at the University; these include waiting for students, cleaning their shoes, make fires, and clean the academic buildings.

Partial Transcript: "Resolved, That an additional servant shall be employed, whose duty it shall be, with the one already employed, to wait, on the students, clean their shoes and boots, to make their fires and to cleanse the College Buildings, for the payment of whom there shall be an additional assessment of one dollar per ann. on each student residing in College. And thereafter it shall be the duty of the Faculty to prohibit all other Colored persons from entering the College Buildings for any purpose whatsoever except by special permission from one of the Body"
